A Quebec woman believes her guardian angel lives in P.E.I.

And she’s hoping to find her.

Catherine Germain Perron was on vacation with her mother Claudine Germain in P.E.I. two years ago when they were involved in a car accident.

The two were on Capital Drive in Charlottetown, travelling from Rollo Bay to Argyle Shore, when they were T-boned by another car coming from Lower Malpeque Road on Sept. 26, 2016.

“She didn’t see us coming and she just went into us on the side; my Mom was driving,” said Germain Perron. “So, a woman who was in the car behind the one who hit us put her car on the side of the road and came to see if we were hurt. She was the one who called police.”

The woman had stayed with them, and also explained the incident to the police once officers arrived.

“We were just in shock, so we weren’t able to ask her name,” said Germain Perron.

Luckily, Germain Perron only suffered bruises, while her mother had some neck pain from the incident.

Now, the two are hoping to find the mystery woman in order to give her a proper thank you.

“The woman who helped us, we always call her our guardian angel.

It was pretty important to us because someone had stopped and helped people they didn’t know.”

“The woman who helped us, we always call her our guardian angel. It was pretty important to us because someone had stopped and helped people they didn’t know,” she said, adding that the two also want to track down the police officer involved and an individual at Carstar who gave them a rental vehicle.

She believes the woman was Russian and bilingual. She said the woman also called her husband, who ran from his job to the site of the crash.

Despite the collision, Germain Perron noted she still has a fondness for P.E.I.

The trip in 2016 was her third time visiting and she hopes to return again, especially if she finds out the identity of the woman so she can thank her.

“I really like P.E.I. and I would like to come back soon,” she said.

CORRECTION: This story previously said Catherine Germain Perron and Claudine Germain were driving a rental car when they were hit. They were actually driving their own car and got a rental after it was totalled in the collision.
The story previously said the woman who helped the two was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee North. That vehicle was actually driven by the person who hit the two. The woman who helped them was also driving a SUV, although the make and model was unclear.
