The City of Charlottetown is hosting a Freedom of the City ceremony and parade with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets on Saturday, Sept. 15. This event will result in some traffic delays and temporary road closures.

About 75 sea cadets will march from the provincial government complex parking lot along Kent Street to Queen Street, arriving at City Hall at approximately 10:30 a.m. for the official ceremony.

There will be a rolling closures along the parade route as they are escorted by Charlottetown police to City Hall.

Following the ceremony, the cadets will parade from Queen Street, turning right on Grafton Street, right on Rochford Street, and left on Kent, ending at the provincial government complex.

A section of Queen Street, between Fitzroy and Kent streets, will be closed to traffic from 9:30 a.m. until the conclusion of the event at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Parking will be restricted on Queen Street between Fitzroy and Kent streets from 5 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m. or at the conclusion of the event.
