Weather – Mixed precipitation expected today, tonight

Approaching storm to give mixed precipitation Tuesday and Tuesday night.

A developing low pressure system affecting P.E.I. began Monday night around midnight.

Five to 10 centimetres of snowfall is forecast for Prince County and lower amounts further to the east.

Total rainfall accumulations near 25 millimetres are expected today and tonight, although it is possible that higher amounts may fall in localized areas.

The rain is expected to change to flurries early Wednesday morning as cold westerly winds move into the region and temperatures quickly fall below freezing.

Driving conditions may become icy as the cold air and flurries move in.
