Jason Coady has announced he will be seeking re-election as the councillor for Ward 8 – Highfield in the upcoming municipal election in Charlottetown.
The last eight years have been a rewarding experience, says Coady.
“Residents love their neighbourhoods and they want to see our city grow in a responsible way,’’ Coady said. “Making house calls and answering questions is a big part of the job, but residents always say thank you for the time and effort. Being able to represent them at the council table is pretty special.”
A graduate of UPEI, Coady has a degree in business and a diploma in public administration. Coady and his wife, Kim, have a daughter, Marley, and they live on Parricus Mead Drive.
Coady says he wants to keep things moving forward in Ward 8.
Investing in municipal services and ensuring that new development is complementary are his top priorities.
“Ward 8 has a number of new and established neighbourhoods. They have different needs. By working together and keeping the lines of communication open, we have been able to invest and grow in a responsible way.”
After a summer of answering calls and knocking on doors, Coady says the message from residents has been straightforward.
“They want someone who is accessible, who will listen to their concerns and who will represent their interests at City Hall. Residents see the progress being made. They just want it to continue, and I think my experience will help to make sure that happens.”
