Summerside woman facing multiple charges

A 25-year-old woman has been charged for driving while prohibited and for drug possession.

SUMMERSIDE – A 25-year-old Summerside woman has been charged for prohibiting driving while prohibited and for drug posession.

Just before 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Summerside Police officers on patrol saw a vehicle in the Water Street East area of the city operating without a valid licence plate attached to it.

A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, in a parking lot of a local business, at which time officers learned the driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old woman from Summerside, was prohibited from driving anywhere in Canada.

She was arrested and a subsequent search turned up a quantity of marijuana.

She will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges of driving while prohibited and drug possession. The woman’s vehicle has will also be impounded for six months due to previous driving-related incidences.
