Theft of electric meter causes P.E.I. residents to go without power Christmas Day

MOUNT ROYAL, P.E.I. – Police are asking for tips about a Maritime Electric power meter stolen from a home on Christmas Day.

In the early morning hours of Dec. 25, the meter was taken off a residence on Mount Royal, near O’Leary.

The residents of the home had to go without power for around 12 hours on Christmas Day.

The RCMP is asking anyone with information about this theft to contact the West Prince detachment at 902-853-9300, or to provide information anonymously through P.E.I. Crime Stoppers.
