DFO searching for entangled right whale in southern Gulf of St. Lawrence

Officers with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) are trying to locate a North Atlantic right whale in the southern area of the Gulf of St. Lawrence today.
DFO officials said an entangled right whale was seen off Miscou, N.B. on Friday.
Rope was around the whale’s body and trailing behind it, said officials.
“Our partners are available to help once we locate the whale,” said a DFO statement, which added that further information will be shared as it becomes available.
