Climate change and its effects on local land and water will be the topic of a forum later this month at the North Shore Community Centre.

Friends of Covehead and Brackley Bays Watershed is hosting the forum in partnership with the Rural Community of North Shore on Thursday, June 21, 7 p.m.

Residents are invited to come and listen to the presentations by Peter Nishimura, P.E.I. climate change adaptation policy adviser, and surface water biologist Cindy Crane.

Open discussions on what actions can be taken to improve the sustainability of water and land will follow the presentations.

Nishimura will focus on climate change’s local effects on land and water and how we deal with them, while Crane will focus on how sediment and nutrients affect water quality and our options for sustainable improvements.

For more information about the forum, contact FCBB at 902-672-2182, email: [email protected] or visit the website at fcbbwatershed.ca.
