WOOD ISLANDS, P.E.I. – Prince Edward Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating those responsible for breaking into an eastern P.E.I. church last week.

Kings District RCMP say sometime between Jan. 9 and 13, someone forced their way into the Wood Islands Presbyterian Church and stole a variety of items.

Officers and members of the Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the break, enter and theft is asked to call the RCMP’s Montague detachment at 902-838-9300, or to provide information anonymously through P.E.I. Crime Stoppers.

This theft comes not long after break-ins and thefts from two other eastern P.E.I. churches — St. George’s Roman Catholic Church in Cardigan on Dec. 29, and St. Mary’s Parish Church in Montague in late November.
